Chicks and Cars

These last couple weeks have been an adventure in getting my car ready to become a British Columbia car. Getting a new windshield, tires, and out of province inspection it has been expensive as well. I know nothing about doing this stuff and made many phone calls to my parents to help. I've been lucky that my parents took care of all of this before. I'd just have to go "Daddy my car is doing something funny" and he would take care of it. Now living far away it's a little harder to do that. I've always taken good care of my car just never had to figure things out on my own. Getting new tires I had no clue what brands the tire shop was talking about when they asked what I was looking for. I ended up just calling my dad after to ask him questions about what they guy had said. I am slowly learning and I'm sure if I took the time to really look into it I could find out more about tires and things. Being a farm girl I do know how to change my oil and change a tire. Not that I really want to do either, but my parents made it a mandatory part of getting our driver's license to learn how to do it. Also living with my uncle who is a mechanic helped me learn a few more things, but I like being able to take it in and get it fixed. If I had the space to change my own oil I would do it. Way cheaper to do it myself but I think it's frowned upon to change your oil on the street as I where I live I only have street parking.
Best plate ever!
The saddest part about having to change my plates is that I will no longer have my pink John Deere plate on the front of my car. BC has plates on the front and back, where Alberta only has back plates. Very sad day. Might have to make a compromise and get a little window sticker or something. Maybe a Hello Kitty Darth Vader sticker like my mom has.
