Starting Off Summer Right

It's summer time!! I am so excited to have the summer off and get to spend time relaxing after a busy year. I was a little sad to be leaving the school I was working at, but this break is needed. 
This summer is starting out with my one year anniversary with my man! It's crazy to think how fast this year has gone. We have been through so much together and couldn't be happier with who I have by my side. We're planning a little date in the same place we went for our first date. We are cheesy and we love it!

Root

We have already had a few game nights with friends, playing some of the new board games that my man got. I have a very particular taste in board games and don't often like most. My man got a game called Root and I love it! All the characters are unique, there's some strategy, a little battling (which I usually hate), and great artwork. It took some time to figure out the game, but after playing it a few times, I really enjoy it. I was nervous about having board game nights and it being to competitive or intense, but they have been really fun. About a year ago I went to a board game meet up event and it was everything I didn't like about board games. People being way too intense and like the game is everything. I am more of a casual player who wants to enjoy the company of friends while playing. My man has been very understanding of that and introduced me to quite a few games that I have enjoyed. 
Every summer I always say I'm going to spend more time with friends and I am hoping that it is true this time! Since I am not working or taking any classes, I want to see people! 
If anyone has any suggestions of things to see or do in the Vancouver area, let me know! I love finding events or things to go to.
