April Adventures

Quartier Petit Champlain
Hello everyone!! April was a busy, adventure filled month! I finished school for the summer, went on a holiday and started a new job.
I got the chance to go to Quebec City with my parents and man for the Easter long weekend. It was a fairly quick trip, but it was much needed and was great to get to explore another part of Canada. We stayed in a cute little Airbnb right in the heart of the Old City. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. We mostly just decided what we wanted to do in the morning and walked around. There was still a surprising amount of snow there too! Coming from Vancouver where everything is green and blooming to a city that was still brown and white was a little bit of a surprise, but the weather was nice while we were there. We did take a day tour outside the city and saw Montmorency Falls, a little of the island and Sainte Anne de Beaupre Basilica. The one thing I really wanted to see was the chocolate museum/shop. It was a little bit of a walk from our place but it was a must! They have about 10 different types of hot chocolate and so many different chocolate treats. We got 3 different hot chocolates to share. They were all amazing! We also got a small assortment of weird chocolates including chipotle, pistachio, honey mead and some other odd ones. We went to La Citadelle and took a tour since it is still a working military base. It was so nice to get away for a bit after a crazy semester and all that had been happening at work.

The day we left for Quebec City I got an offer for a temporary working in a school, which is amazing since it is experience doing what I would like to do when I finish school. I started the day after I got back and it has been great so far! Though it is only until the end of June it is an amazing opportunity and gets me more experience in the field!
After feeling like life was against me, it feels good to have new opportunities present themselves. The last few months were pretty rough with work and all the drama that came with that. I am looking forward to what the next few months will bring and can't wait for the summer and all the adventures that are planned for August!

Take care everyone and remember that even though things are rough that things will change!
